Raising Sheep – Part 3

In our country, the sheep are sheared in May or June. Time to begin shearing is when the spring wool starts to become fluffy and wool fat starts getting burned. The sheep shouldn’t be fed the day before shearing. Shearing shed should be located in a well lit, clean and large place. Shearing should start with rams, than sheep and lambs. The ewes which lambed should be left to last. If the shearing isn’t done in time, the wool will keep swelling up, then it will fall apart slowly leaving the sheep naked.
